Pastels surprisingly present a lot of outfit options. Since we are not out of the woods as far as cooler temps, I thought I'd start by styling this great cashmere sweater I got for Christmas this year. Here are just three of the many ways you can wear pastels this spring.

Charter Club cashmere sweater / Thrifted Ann Taylor pants / Nine West shoes / H&M blouse
2. Wear Pastels with Brights: Pastels can be a great contrast to brights. Think of pastels as almost like a neutral in this scenario. They both bring out the best in the other color. I think these particular colors — lavender and blue — really go nicely together to begin with and create an interesting dynamic in these particular shades. I also tried to keep the rest of the outfit fairly toned down with these fabulous Ann Taylor pants that I got at Goodwill.

3. Wear Pastels with Deep Colors: I definitely think of this skirt as a fall/winter skirt. It's maroon color complements a lot of the deeper and richer colors of fall and winter nicely. Surprisingly, it pairs well with this pastel purple too. I think the key here was choosing two colors that fall into the same color family of purple. I layered this great thrifted Ralph Lauren blouse underneath to add an interesting pattern to the mix.
