Hot Days and Nights
The boy had a lacrosse tournament in Hudson, OH, so I had the chance to wander around the quaint historical town not far from Cleveland on a sunny Saturday afternoon. The town itself is quite old and was part of the Underground Railroad. You can still take a tour of the different sites. Besides it's historical significance, it has a great Gap that I go to every time I am there, top-notch local cuisine and local businesses such as the Learned Owl, a bookstore I also have to stop in. For lunch, I tried One Red Door. I had the most amazing burger with brie and pomme frites served with a Bearnaise sauce and bacon dip. My indulgences included a Goose Island Matilda, a new favorite summer beer.
The weather predictions for the weekend were pretty hot and steamy so I outfitted myself in a breezy, no-thought required ensemble. My new statement necklace is getting a lot of play and I am absolutely loving it with this bright yellow top. The white skirt seemed like a natural compliment to these bright colors as well as these tan gladiators I picked up for $25 from T.J. Maxx. The necklace kept the outfit serious enough to wear it to a birthday party later that night. This might have to be my go-to transition from day to night outfit for summer.
