Happy Friday and long weekend!

The boy is coming to visit this weekend! And we will be taking a spin in this beauty. So excited! We have a pretty low-key Labor Day weekend planned. Maybe heading to some fairs—my favorite—Cleveland has the best you know!

And in the mean time, I have a confession to make. I just finished reading August Vogue and am only just starting to read the September issue. I am so behind. Once again, how can I call myself a fashion enthusiast? What came as a pleasant surprise while reading the "Age issue", were some of the well written features. Usually, I skim over the long stories and get my fashion fix by gazing at the beautiful editorials. But this time, it was as if every feature was beckoning me to read the next. Below are some of my favorite quotes. Happy Labor Day! I hope you enjoy some time reading something wonderful outside!

"The same way I know that change—all kinds of change—is inevitable. My choice is not to dwell upon that single point, what with all the great stuff we have going for us in the present. Why would I want to ruin what we have now with dismal musings about a future I can’t reasonably predict? It’s a relationship, not an investment in a chancy business scheme."
- Leon Bing, No Country For Old Men, on being in a relationship with a younger man

"This book is meant to channel the ethos of my father by sharing the greatest gifts that he imparted to me. Invest in what's real. Clean as you go. Drink while you cook. Make it fun. It doesn't have to be complicated. It will be what it will be."
- Gwenyth Paltrow, Beauty and the Feast, on her father and her new cookbook

"The thing about these English bombshells is they can drop in anytime, losing a suitcase along the way, and leave the rest of us in the dust. Call it frock and awe." -Sally Singer, Bird of Britain, on UK it-girl Alexa Chung

"When I ask if she's sad about how things played out, she gives the laugh of one whose life is proof that in the modern world women are constantly refashioning their identities and starting over. 'Of course it's a little sad," she says, sounding anything but. 'One chapter is gone, and now we're going to start a new one.'"
-John Powers, Quick-Change Artist, interviewing the groundbreaking former first lady of Japan, Miyuki Hatoyama

"There is a generational realization now that it could be fun to make an effort to look unironically glamorous as opposed to ironically spending hours to look disheveled."
-Mark Holgate, Cyclical Nature, on the 50s revival in fashion

haha, I'm always behind on my magazine reading! I'll get to the horoscopes and start reading and then I think "wait, what month is this for?" because I'm always reading past issues.

You look so cute, I love that dress on you!
