I love this image of Sienna. She seems so resilient here beyond all of the media speculation about her personal life. I think we all could use a dose of resiliency right now.
Well, off to see the beau for cheerier happier times! It's his birthday weekend!
And so glad this long week and unbearably long month is finally over. When's the next holiday?

Haha! I love these images of people posing with pets. I noticed both images this week. That constitutes as a trend, right? I really want a tough little bull dog and that horse is beautiful. I also love the mixing and matching of patterns in the second image. That actually is a real trend.

American Apparel ($45) has a great sheer top that would be pretty sexy with just a black tank underneath.

I always drive past Lake Erie on my way to work. This morning, the snow and sun made the beach and lake look especially picturesque. I know no one likes the snow, but I still love to see it, especially in a place as unexpected as the beach.

Zoe Saldana wears this Louis Vuitton well because it really compliments her skin tone. I love the draping and how it kind of trails off.
Emily Blunt wore this mermaid style Dolce & Gabanna dress, and executed it well because she has the frame to pull it off.
And then there is Cameron Diaz who just pulls off a simple red dress dress with black shoes. Simple but pretty is sometimes all you need. And this Alexander McQueen has some interesting detailing to it as well that doesn't overwhelm the dress.
Maybe people are saving their showstoppers for the Academy Awards?

Jezebel writes "The January Anthropologie catalog knows that you secretly wish you could be a quirky, insouciant French gamine living in Paris. Or at least: Dress like one."
Joanna agrees that she is guilty as charged, and I have to say that there is nothing I want more than to accidentally get caught in the rain while wearing a chic trench and darling dress, sit alone in coffee shops and appear content, and ride bikes with bushels of flowers in the front basket. I also really want this girl's haircut. Don't be all French and pretend like you don't care.

I am ready to wear outfits like this one and for it to be much much warmer.
I hope you all enjoyed your weekends. The 20s style speakeasy I went to on Saturday did not disappoint. The drinks were delicious and the atmosphere in the private room was intimate and warm. If you live in the Cleveland area, I would highly recommend the Velvet Tango Room.

I've been a little obsessed with Tod Brody's photography lately. He's the one who did the album cover for Vampire Weekend that no one will explain.
I also have been really loving the Laura Veirs CD and the lyrics are beautiful, "Life is good when you dance all night/And the world emits electric power/The messages you sent to Mars/Came from your crown of flowers/Have you danced away the hours?/Have you danced away the hours?"
The beau is coming up this weekend, and I couldn't be more excited. We are going to this 20s style bar with classic drinks like Manhattans (they make their own sours and bitters), and we have a password to get into the back room. I will have to report on it when I return on Monday.
Have a sweet weekend...
The first time I saw this Bucket Bag from JPK Paris was in a winter Nordstrom catalog. I love the gold hardware and the jewel colors that it comes in. It does seem a little deep, like I would have to go searching for things with a flashlight. It is the cheapest out of these bags right now as it is on sale at Nordstrom for $109.
I was also introduced to Saltbox based in New York. These bags come in fun, colorful patterns. They also have a lot of pocket space, which is a good thing. It also looks like it has structure, like it wouldn't get flimsy after a while. It is a little more expensive at $145.
Then there is Longchamp. It's downfall: everyone has one! It also seems somewhat shapeless, and I could see myself trying to fit way too much into it, making it look like a bulky unattractive mess. It is, however, very classic and would go well with most outfits.
Does anyone want to weigh in their two cents?

Number one rule while trying to not spend money: Don't go into Forever 21. Rule number two: Don't go into Target.
I think these two places are my biggest weaknesses because they always feed my need for instant gratification. I can walk into either of these stores and find something I could justify buying whether it's really cheap or it's the perfect trendy piece for my wardrobe.
When I went into Target the other day to exchange CDs, I was bombarded with their spring clothes. It's January and they already have a fully stocked section of bathing suits and cover ups as well as cute spring dresses. I have been able to avoid Forever 21. I haven't even looked at its Web site for weeks, but Target is a much easier place to get caught in.
If I am going to stay strong, I will need to avoid both of these stores for as long as possible. But I thought I would post some things I spotted there so you can understand the torute I am going through. Look at the cute patterns on these dresses. And the frilly bathing suit!!! WAHHHHH!!!!!

I found a blog over the weekend that is truly an inspiration for me. So far you know that I have a mild, non-serious shopping addiction. I just love to try out new things and that has lead to me spending more than I want to on clothes, which has lead to my New Year's Resolution: no spending on clothes for the next three months. But when I am done with my spending freeze, I am definitely going to use Marisa's blog as my guide. She has decided to buy only clothes from garage sales and flea markets. Her budget: $1 a day. She takes ridiculous looking clothes and takes them in with her sewing machine or dyes them to make them look more current. Just look what she did to this oversized dress with its awesome pattern. Amazing!

You are probably saying to yourself, "Why would you be buying CDs when you are on a spending freeze?" Well the answer is that I'm not. I was able to go to Laura Veir's Web site and download two of the tracks for free and I have a duplicate Decemberists CD that I recieved for Christmas that I need to exchange for the Vampire Weekend CD. Score! No money spent. But I hope you consider buying one of these CDs because they are both really good.
