Book List: Steve Hely

Steve Hely, Harvard grad, David Letterman alum, and now a writer for 30 Rock (I am peeing my pants in excitement for this season), has written a book about a character, Pete Tarslaw, out for vengeance against his ex who is now getting married. His plan is to become an insanely, fabulously successful writer. His plan to become a writer involves putting together a formula that all books on the bestseller list seem to follow and making the book marketable in any form. For example, he includes scenes of people driving in his book because he wants to reach out to people who might be listening to the book while driving. I heard Terry Gross interview Hely on the book, and I was sold. It sounds hilarious. How I Became a Famous Novelist is on my list of books to read.

This is the first time I've heard of this book. 30 Rock is so brilliant that I definitely will have to read this now. Thanks for sharing this.
